Maura is familiar with the various housing styles across this region and understands how to recognise and treat damp problems such as black mould, dry rot, wet rot and woodworm.
Condensation and mould that can build up in your home over time will not only bring about unsightly issues that can cause extensive damage to your property but they can also lead to a wide range of health problems. By reducing humidity levels you can prevent condensation appearing on walls and windows. Maura can offer advice on how to prevent these issues from occurring and returning again in the future.
Maura has a versatile range of clientele and will always provide an independent service. You will not be sold anything other than expert advice and will never be advised to carry out any unnecessary work on your property.
Maura is one of our Damp Detectives and is part of a national independent company. She will deliver the best, high quality service that will find the source of your damp and mould problem.
1. Ethical quoting
You can contact Maura for an initial, no obligations assessment where a preliminary estimated quote for the survey will be provided. These surveys provide great value for money and typically cost less than a standard home buyer’s survey. Maura will also provide an overview as to what areas of the property will need to be accessible and inform you of what will need to be inspected. This will form a contract between both parties and will be sent to you by email.
2. Quick Response Time
We aim to conduct your survey as quickly as possible. If during the initial assessment Maura feels unable to complete the survey in the specified time she will let you know immediately.
3. Site Visit
A survey for a small residential property usually takes approximately 3 hours. If you are happy with the free assessment then Maura will arrange to come and visit the property. If necessary she will liaise with tenants, estate agents or the property owners to gain access to the property and undertake the survey. Where necessary Maura will also check on the effectiveness of remedial actions which might have taken place in the property.
4. Survey Report
Maura will gather all of the necessary information to draft a report during her visit. If you request a written report, she will then send this to you via email in a PDF format within 7-9 days from the receipt of payment, which is due on completion of the survey.
The report includes a variety of elements including a wider scope survey of the entire property as well as:
If you need further clarification on anything in the report or if you are unsatisfied with our findings, Maura will be happy to arrange as many appointments as necessary to clarify anything. All revisits are subject to an additional reduced fee.
