Damp Surveys Southampton and Portsmouth

Derek is our head Independent Damp Surveyor in the Southern areas of the UK, covering areas Dorset, Hampshire, Southampton and Portsmouth.

Serving postcodes DT, BH, SP, SO, and PO.

Derek is CSDD qualified (certified surveyor in damp detection) and has over 15 years experience in dealing with several different damp problems and solutions. Derek will carry out an Independent Damp Survey that is completely unbiased. Using a selection of essential tools and extensive knowledge, as a Independent Damp Specialist, he will help find the root of your damp and mould problem without selling you any unnecessary extras.

Some firms will advocate simply to paint or plaster over the mould and damp but that will only cover it up. It won’t stop the mould being a hazard to health.

Have you been told you have rising damp and that your walls need tanking? Simply tanking your walls is expensive and traps damp in your home. Damp Detectives find the cause.

We make it our sole purpose to locate the cause of the damp problem and offer reliable, independent advice on how to fix the issue which in many cases saves our customers thousands of pounds in remedial work. We are confident that you will be satisfied with your survey as many of our passed customers have been.

How much does an Independent Damp Survey cost?

As each property and situation is unique, we can’t offer every customer a fixed price on our website. The cost of the survey will be discussed with you during your phone calls with Derek where he will give you an initial idea of the cost of the damp survey. As a general guide these surveys often cost less than the cost of a basic home buyer’s survey, providing excellent value for money.

Can a Damp Survey be carried out on my premises?

Derek can conduct damp surveys on a variety of different premises including residential and commercial properties. Whether you are a Business Owner, Landlord, Tenant or Home Owner, Derek’s survey will be thorough and will include a report afterwards which explains his findings in detail.

How does the process work?

The first step is to contact Derek for a no obligation assessment of your situation and at this time he will give you an initial idea of the cost of the damp survey.
If you are happy with the initial assessment, then Derek will arrange to come and visit the property and if necessary liaise with Tenants, Estate Agents or the Property Owners to gain access to the property and undertake the survey.

The damp survey itself normally takes 3 hours for a small residential property. Derek will investigate the main areas for concern and he will also conduct a wider inspection of all the issues affecting the premises so you can have peace of mind the that the entire property has been investigated. Remedial actions which might have taken place in the property will also be checked to see if this has had any impact on the damp or mould issue.

After the visit, Derek will go through the key issues with you and if requested, will generate a written report that includes all findings and the process of the survey carried out. At this time if necessary, he will advise on any work or steps that need to be conducted to help resolve the problem.

If you need a non biased, Independent Damp and Mould Survey that you can trust, contact Derek today by calling 07855 763984 or fill out the contact form.

Further to your Damp Survey of 5th February, I had meant to tell you that we were subsequently able to come to an arrangement with the window fitter for him to return and fit lead flashing along the join between conservatory and house. We have had fairly heavy rain on a number of occasions since and I am pleased to inform you that there have been no leaks!

Many thanks for your assistance with this, and also with pointing out the other areas of concern.
