Joby has over 15 years of experience working in the building industry. He has carried out a vast range of projects and different types of building works over time but have now moved onto management roles. He is now responsible for the day to day running of a large successful renovation and building company.
Joby is a fully qualified domestic and commercial gas engineer and with the specialist training is qualified with Damp Detectives in locating the source of damp, mould and condensation problems.
Joby covers the areas of NN Northampton, SG Stevanage, CB Cambridge, MK Milton Keynes, LU Luton and AL St Albans.
We recognise that decisions regarding how to address moisture, mould, and condensation concerns in your home must be carefully evaluated when budgeting during this period of increased living costs.
Free damp surveys can be tempting but these are often offered by builders who are likely to recommend expensive building work and damp proofing in order to make their money. This is likely to mask the problem, only for it to recur at a later stage.
Our damp surveys are excellent value for money. We will discuss every aspect of our investigative work with you and we take great satisfaction in being able to offer a practical and affordable solution to all damp, mould and condensation problems. This could potentially save you thousands of pounds on unnecessary building work.
Getting in touch is easy. Simply use the contact form, from there our damp detectives will get in touch to gather as much information as they can from you and discuss an estimated quote. If you choose to go ahead with the survey, Joby will book an appointment with you to visit the property and will liaise with any relevant parties where necessary in order to carry out the survey.
All of our independent Damp Detectives will conduct an unbiased survey using their specialist equipment and expert knowledge to determine the source of any damp, mould or condensation and offer solutions.
A survey of a smaller, residential property typically takes around three hours. The primary areas of concern will be investigated, along with a thorough property inspection to ensure that nothing is missed. They will also inspect any remedial measures that may have been implemented and assess their impact on the property.
If you have requested a full report of the findings, this will be generated after the inspection. At this point, Joby can advise on any appropriate corrective actions that may be required to help mitigate the problem.
Each customer will receive:
Ethical Quoting – After a no obligation assessment you will be given an idea of the initial cost of the survey. It’s worth noting that a survey is likely to cost less than a standard home buyer’s survey, offering great value for money.
Quick Response Time – If the required lead time for your survey is not possible after the initial assessment, you will be informed immediately.
Site Visit – If you are satisfied with the initial assessment, a site visit will be arranged in order to complete the survey.
Survey Report – During the site visit, our surveyors will collect all of the information needed to write a report. If you request a written report, this will be sent to you via email in PDF format within 5-7 days of receiving payment, which is due upon survey completion. The report includes a variety of elements such as a wider scope survey of the entire property.
Every case and property is different and therefore we are unable to provide a fixed quote. It is best to get in touch and provide as much information as you can along with evidential images where possible. This will help Joby to better understand the problem. Once you have decided to go ahead with the survey, he will be able to provide you with an estimated cost. It is worth noting that a damp survey often costs less than a basic home buyer’s survey, offering great value for money.
Damp and mould can make you more likely to have respiratory infections, … babies and children, elderly people and those with existing skin problems may suffer the most.
